Policy 4F.1 Participation in Political Activity
Employees Time Off to Vote Minnesota Statutes 204A.36
"Every employee who is entitled to vote at any statewide general election or at any
election to fill a vacancy in the office of representative in congress is entitled
to absent him/herself from his/her work for the purpose of voting during the forenoon
of such election day without penalty or deduction from his/her salary or wages on
account of such absence."
Employees wishing to vote must arrange for time off in advance so as to minimize the
disruption of the department's normal activities.
