English Transfer Pathway AA

Through the English program, you’ll get the opportunity to explore a wide range of courses — from composition and literature to creative writing — that help you discover your interests and build strong reading, writing and critical‑thinking skills. These universal skills support your success in every career field.

In the classroom and beyond, you’ll find an engaged community of faculty and students who share your passion for storytelling and ideas. You’ll have opportunities to connect through our student literary magazine, visiting author events, the Two Rivers Reading Series and Minnesota Writers Series. You can also learn from working writers through our Careers in Writing Speaker Series.

Anoka‑Ramsey’s English courses offers small classes in a supportive space where you’ll learn to understand texts deeply and express ideas clearly. You’ll learn through a variety of courses, peer feedback and guidance from award‑winning faculty that helps you grow as both a student and a writer. Classes are led by published, working writers who are active in the regional and national literary community.

The 60‑credit English Transfer Pathway is designed so every course directly applies toward designated English bachelor’s programs at Minnesota State universities. Courses are offered online and on campus, so you’ll benefit from Minnesota’s lowest-cost seated tuition, all while preparing to transfer smoothly and continue your education as a junior.
