  • You have no prior college credits (including PSEO or Concurrent Enrollment)
  • You have earned a high school diploma or equivalent or will have at the time of enrollment

Steps to Apply

  1. 1

    Apply to Anoka-Ramsey

    • Complete your free online application.
    • Save your StarID and password. You'll use these for student email and college services.
    • Watch your email for your next steps and updates on enrollment.
    If you've previously attended Anoka-Ramsey, including through PSEO or Concurrent Enrollment, you do not need to reapply. Follow the Returning Student steps instead.

    Determine Course Placement

    Your placement level in English, reading and math can be determined using:
    • Valid assessment test scores (Accuplacer, ACT, SAT, MCA, etc.)
    • High school GPA and coursework
    Information you provided on your application determines your course placement. If additional information is needed, you will be contacted via email. Once your course placement is complete, you will receive an email invitation to complete online orientation.

    Online Orientation

    Once your course placement has been met, you will receive an email invitation to complete Online Orientation.

    Before you register for courses, you must complete the Online Orientation.

    Orientation provides essential information about college policies, procedures, course registration and support resources.

    Register for Courses

    After completing Online Orientation, check your student email for information on your assigned Academic Advisor. Set up a meeting on-campus or online to discuss:
    • Upcoming semester plan
    • Course registration
    • Any final steps
    • Academic, career, health and well-being, and other support services
  5. 5

    Submit Your FAFSA

    Your first step to getting help to pay for college is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can submit your FAFSA form event before you've been accepted for admission.
